Today has had a variety of challenges which I have thankfully gotten through with a lot of help from my friends, both old and new! I am aware that I need to go back over everything that I have learnt with a particular focus on google meet and google calendar as these are the things that I need the most frequently in my day-to-day school life. I need a lot of take up time to embed these digital skills so my notes and the slides that have been provided are going to be well used.
I enjoyed the gmail section and have already made a start on deleting subscriptions and adjusting other settings such as the background. I will be continuing to reorganise my gmail site over the next few days to simplify and clean out some areas. I also need to add an email signature. It was good to find out that google translate is available if needed and that frequent email messages can be turned into templates.
I would like to compile a list of shortcuts from each session and keep them handy for easy reference as I know that I won’t be able to remember them all!
When wanting to look back at the speaker notes and slides I will try to use the ‘s’ key shortcut for easy access.
The Hapara hot tip was also useful and I will check the teacherdashboard.com to ensure that I can see all my classes as they are confirmed then use the pencil icon to rename them in a more user-friendly format.
Organising my bookmarks and cleaning up the bookbar is another priority. I would like to colour code my bookmarks get rid of unnecessary text.
Google Keep looks useful and I am thinking of it as being a bit like a parking bay for keeping things handy and I can see that it could be useful in the future but will get through some of the other stuff first:)
